Why is it so hard to find someone to have a decent line with?
Maybe I'm setting the bar too high but I remember the days when I could connect with other players and we knew exactly where to take a story without even talking about it OOC. Nowadays it's difficult for me to find someone who can even plot a story with me. I'm so frustrated with the level of boredom I've reached that I'm on the verge of tears! I just want some substance!!!

1. I think that mods these days need to loosen up. I especially hate when there's two mods, since one is usually awesome and the other one is usually an uptight bitch. Never a happy medium.
2. The community is more active than I've seen it in a while. I wonder what ( or who ) will make it stop again.

ugh.. i'm so frustrated to the point where i feel like crying because i feel like i'm such a let down to all the people i've ever played with and am currently playing with right now. i give up on storyline partners, communities, private storylines, threads, and everything so easily anymore. i know this doesn't make any kind of sense, but i just want to write! my brain doesn't want to function on a high writing level anymore and i don't know if that means that i am growing out of this or if it means that i am just in some sort of funky rut? where has all my inspiration gone? things that used to come so easily, now take days, weeks, or even months to write. i used to churn out bios in hours, threads in minutes, and aim scenes in seconds. now i am so damn sluggish and lazy, there are some days where everything just seems impossible and nothing gets done. things just keep piling up until finally.. i'm in here, venting because i have no other option. i'm at my wits end and i don't know what to do anymore. it's like, i don't know whether i should quit or if i should just keep feeling frustrated because there's honestly nothing else i can do about it. i just really love writing and right now, i feel like this is my only outlet, until i think of something better to do to preoccupy my time. sigh.

A) Thank you IJ for eating my notifs. You can't thread effectively when you don't know that people are tagging.
B) I didn't realize one could use the same character journal for two different psls. If you wanted to do that, custom that shit and make it so my character won't know you're using it for another person. Glad to see I'm not the only one you don't use punctuation for.

i completely understand ij's not sending out notifs or somethings gone wrong and a lot of people just flat out arent getting them. my journals are on that list too including a mod journal, which isnt good and has me vaguely paranoid some comment will come and its important and none of them dos will see it. however when you post looking for storylines, get people commenting to your entry (or entries if you post in various places or various times over the course of the day), itd be nice if youd, oh i dont know, keep track of the entry itself in a way other than with ij notifs because its really frustrating to see ANOTHER post not long after your most recent one(s) that basically says "ijs not sending me notifs :( lines?" i know actually keeping track of your ads and sl posts outside of whatever you post in your journal is a crazy crazy concept, but when you KNOW the notifs are unreliable, its not that hard to make a special bookmark in your bookmarks for your ads, to just bookmark it sans special folder area, or even use that great feature all the LJ clone sites have of putting an entry into your MEMORIES and making a custom memory tag of maybe "game ads" or "storyline posts" or "my ads/sls" so you can later go back and see that, yes, people actually did want to plot with you! a surprising amount of people still seem capable of keeping up with their replies, so if one of those ways doesn't fly with you, maybe chat with them and ask them their methods. otherwise it just frustrates everyone else and makes you look bad. plus, it really is annoying to see a bunch of people in pbads posting with "no notifs. :( lines/home?" when its really not at all hard to come up with an easy way to keep track of posts AND whats being discussed/pimped.

I absolutely defend anyone and everyone's basic right to use an anonymous journal to vent in ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) rpvents so as to avoid upsetting friends and fellow players, but when certain people use a dozen different journals (or more) to post and comment here and yet are really obviously the same person with the same mean streak a mile wide both IC and OOC, surely they must realise there is a reason why people avoid interacting with them? Surely?
I'm not going to out you, but seriously, be a little more fucking subtle. And it won't hurt you to be pleasant. I promise.

Listen honey, I know you think you own RP (especially where Harry Potter games are concerned) but you don't. You ruined your own game by being a control freak, ruined some friendships that had existed for years and then made excuses/manipulated people so that none of it looked like it was your fault and you could get off guilt free.
That's all fine and well - this is just RP, and it is indeed, just a game. But you need to pull that enormous stick out of your ass. I didn't steal your premise - my premise came from my own head, the head of a friend, and an idea that I read in a fanfic YEARS ago. But if you want to get technical? You stole your premise from another game (just as most HP games recycle premises over and over again), so stop being a hypocrite.
I don't hate you, I don't have anything against you - I'll still write with you and talk to you. I'm just frustrated that you think you own RP, can dictate what EVERYONE else does and proceed to ruin innocent fun for the rest of us. You've successfully talked enough shit that my game (which I've been contemplating for months, by the way) isn't going to open. So you got what you wanted, and I hope you are thrilled about it. I hope it makes you sleep better at night, and that you feel like you've accomplished something. God knows you need to feel like you are important - way more than I do.

Because no sooner do you find a comm where you ~think things are just great, and the mod seems too good to be true, she's so awesome... you come to find out that she's just as batshit insane as all the other crackpots running comms out there today. Just when you think you've finally found a safe home, you realize the mod is biased, favors her friends, removes people if she (and they) don't get what they want and breaks her own rules. Have to admit, it was a better screening job this time, but I guess eventually all the crazies do out themselves. Seriously... if all you're going to do is cater to yourself and your friends - who are ~known crazies that start shit everywhere they go - don't open your comm up to everyone, because that's complete bullshit.
Shame. Started out a really great place, too. Oh fucking well.
